My doctor walks in and says " Still pregnant huh? Well why don't we try and move things along"
She explains to me the simple procedure of "stripping my membranes." For those who want details, read on....
She will simply go in and seperate my uterus from my amniotic sac to sort of push things along. Now this isn't breaking my water or inducing me, it is simply just a nudge in the right direction. She said that if my body is ready to go into labor than this will get it going hopefully in the next 24 hours. This simple procedure was probably one of the most painful things I have ever experienced. I am still in a good deal of pain from the whole ordeal! She left the room saying "Now be a good girl and go into labor!!" So that's what I'm going to try and do!
The goal is for me to have this guy in the next 24 hours so she can deliver me. If I don't than she will no longer be the doctor on call and I will have some other doctor in there. Not very cool since my doctor has spent all this time with me and my pregnancy.
On with some other doctor visit things...
My Uterus is at 40 cm ( surprise surprise) and I weigh in at 159 lbs. I'm still pregnant and still gaining weight... Oh! and STILL 1 cm dilated!!
Baby's heart sounds fantastic as always and hopefully this membrane stripping will give him the A-OK to come out!!
