Daily Life with Kael

Since Kael has been here it has been nearly impossible to blog but here I am!! Kael is such an amazing blessing! I can't believe that he has only been with us fro three weeks! I can hardly remember life without him!!

Week 1

Kael's first week was a rough one. He developed a horrible diaper rash on the same day he was circumcised so he spent most of his first few days home screaming. Poor little man. Thankfully he took right to breast feeding and I was able to soothe and calm him by doing so. He was a little jaundice so we had our first pediatric appointment to make sure it was getting better. The doctor said that the jaundice was very mild and all was well. At the end of his first week we were blessed to have Sterling's aunts over for a Saturday morning breakfast to meet our little guy!!

He spent most of his week in the "frog" position airing out his
poor rash and keeping his diaper away from his sore little
wee-wee

We invested in a breast pump so Sterling has
been able to experience the joy of feeding him.

Week 2

Week two also proved itself to be a bit rough. Sterling had come down with a bit of a cold and of course our poor little guy caught it. It was just a little sore throat and stuffy nose, no big deal for Sterling, but for a new born baby it is a HUGE deal! He made his way through it like a champ but still has a bit of congestion because of it. Although fighting a cold his second week was a good one. Kael and I headed up to my mother's in Lake Arrowhead for the week. It was so nice to spend the time with my mother and family. She was so extremely helpful to me! I actually got to take naps!! It's never fun being so far away from those you love but at least we still see each other often! While Staying in Arrowhead we were also able to visit my Grandma who live only about 20 minutes away from my mother's house. This was the first time my Grandma would be seeing her great-grandson!! We were very excited!

I think he looks SOO much like Sterling's side in the picture!!

Happy snoozing boy

This was the very end of a smile. I have had some difficulty

Week 3

This was a great week! Kael finally got over his little cold and has been sleeping through most of the night!! He is such a sweet boy! We all just love having such a pure being around us all the time! Kael and I went on our very first outing ALONE without Sterling this week!! It felt so good to take the car and just be with my mini man. Just me and him. We went to the doctor again and he weighed in at 9lbs 7oz!! In two weeks he gained 1lb and 5oz making his weight double the "expected healthy" weight! He's a good eater!!

Kael was helping Mommy with the laundry

He loves his bouncy seat!!
